IHG scoops three prestigious gold accreditations

Award-winning hotel chain IHG UK & Ireland Company Managed Hotels, is celebrating triple success with three of its UK properties achieving the VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation. This coveted accreditation recognises the highest performing venues in the conference and events sector.

Holiday Inn York, Holiday Inn Edinburgh and Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport each achieved Gold Accreditation for the first quarter of 2014, which only 29 venues in the UK have received.

The annual accreditation is based on rigorous research conducted by BDRC Continental, the UK’s largest independent market research agency. The feedback from over 22,000 event hosts, bookers and customers across more than 350 venues, looks at how likely delegates and guests are to recommend a venue for a conference or event.

David Taylor, Head of Commercial for IHG UK & I Managed Hotels said: “We are thrilled three of our hotels have achieved the VenueVerdict Gold Accreditation. We are continually striving to deliver a first class conference and event experience for our customers. This award reinforces the dedication of our teams to getting it right, by delivering the very best service.”

The hotel group has ambitious plans to become the market leader within the M&E sector, after significant investment in developing ‘Food for Thought’, the chain’s innovative new conference menu. Bursting with super foods to fuel the mind and improve energy levels, the new food and beverage offering is proven to increase mental competence among delegates by 20%.

IHG UK & Ireland Managed Hotels promises to continue their growth in this department with the delivery of high quality products and service delivery, together with outstanding value for money.

With over 622 meeting rooms across 61 venues, the IHG UK & Ireland Company Managed Hotels has one of the strongest meetings and events offerings in the UK and Ireland. Holiday Inn York, Holiday Inn Edinburgh and Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport registered a Net Promoter Score of +70 or

higher for the last twelve months. The scoring is based on the likelihood to recommend the venue of 40 or more Event Hosts who have held their conference or event at the hotels, putting them significantly above the national average.
