Charter flight bookings on the up in countdown to Olympics

With the Olympics opening ceremony set to start in just under 100 days, leading aircraft charter specialist, Air Charter Service, says that clients are starting to book more and more flights for the games.

According to Matthew Purton, Commercial Jets Director at ACS, bookings for the games have doubled in April: “We have been receiving enquiries and requests for information ever since last summer, but the last couple of weeks has seen clients starting to confirm their travel plans. We’re not only booking executive jets for private individuals, but also group travel on larger, commercial aircraft. One particular group of fans are flying from Europe directly into Bournemouth to lend their support to their national sailing team.”

Purton continued: “We have a total of six offices in Europe as well as a further ten on other continents, so we are helping them and their clients with local issues here in London, such as airport slots and advice on ground transportation and accommodation.”

It looks set to be a busy sporting summer for the company, whose European offices are also flying many teams, sponsors and supporters to the UEFA Euro 2012 football championships in June and July.
