Grifco to handle the UK PR for The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Edinburgh

The team at Grifco PR have announced that they will be handling the UK PR for The Caledonian in Edinburgh which, following significant investment, will be rebranded as The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the late summer of 2012. The conversion of this landmark property marks the debut of the world renowned luxury brand in Scotland, bringing the internationally recognised Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts standard of service to the Scottish capital.

A legend in the Scottish hospitality industry, The Caledonian first opened its doors to discerning travellers more than 100 years ago and has won an enviable reputation as one of the city’s leading hotels. Following a multi-million restoration project spanning the hotel’s public spaces, rooms, spa and food and beverage outlets, the property will provide a guest experience that continues the legacy of the Waldorf Astoria name and secures The Caledonian’s reputation as the very finest address in Scotland. Centrally located on Edinburgh’s Princes Street, and with stunning views up to the imposing castle that dominates the city, The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel will provide a haven of luxurious accommodation, fine dining and exceptional service.

“Myself and my team are delighted to be launching The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel this summer and to be bringing the ultimate in Scottish hospitality to our historic city. We are extremely proud to be joining some of the world’s landmark hotels, such as The Waldorf Astoria New York and Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, amongst which The Caledonian will sit perfectly with its distinct character, wonderful location and famous charm. I very much look forward to working with Grifco to promote the hotel in the UK” commented Willy Blattner, General Manager, The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
