GTMC Chief Executive Anne Godfrey to leave
The Guild of Travel Management Companies’ (GTMC) chief executive, Anne Godfrey has announced that she will be leaving the organisation this summer to take up the role of chief executive at The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).Godfrey, who has been at the GTMC since October 2009, is seen as a change management specialist in the field of membership organisations. Since her appointment to the CEO role at the GTMC she has overseen a restructure of the organisations’ membership – both from a membership and industry partners perspective – and has grown member and sponsor revenues, restructured the staff and office accommodation and repositioned the GTMC Overseas Conference, which has seen delegate satisfaction increase dramatically.
Additionally she has driven a political lobbying programme that has made the GTMC the voice of the business travel world to Westminster.
“Naturally I am very sad to be leaving the GTMC” said Ms Godfrey “as I have enjoyed working in an industry that is full of such great personalities and challenging issues. I’ve never had such fun as I have had in this role working with people who love what they do and are passionate about travel. However, I came here to do a specific job, which was to help the GTMC build on a strong brand and network and move the organisation’s lobbying on to the next level and delivering an organisation that truly represents the voice of the business travel community.”
GTMC chairman Ajaya Sodha commented: “We are sad to be saying goodbye to Anne who has done a truly amazing job at the helm of the GTMC these past three years. She leaves our organisation in superb shape and in an enviable position in terms of financial health, industry influence and membership satisfaction.”
