Naidex and Asian Marketing Effectiveness Festival kick off the 2012 calendar of events, for newly rebranded i2i Events Group

i2i Events Group (previously known as EMAP Connect, the large scale events, festivals and exhibition division of EMAP) has kicked off the 2012 events calendar under its new brand name, with the staging of the leading healthcare professional exhibition Naidex National in Birmingham, UK and the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Festival in Shanghai, China.

The Asian Marketing Effectiveness Festival, held in Shanghai on 26th and 27th April was brought to a close with its 10th Awards Ceremony honouring clients and their agencies for marketing strategies that deliver solid results to transform business and brands. The annual awards received over 970 entries and were judged by a panel of top client and agency professionals who reviewed the submissions against stringent criteria to determine the winners of the prestigious trophies. The Festival, which is organised by Lions Festivals (organisers of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and Eurobest, amongst others, and managed by i2i Events Group) and Haymarket Media Group, saw record breaking entries this year with some 400 delegates in attendance and unrivalled content provided in seminar sessions from the likes of adidas, BBH, Lowe+Partners, Ogilvy & Mather and PHD amongst others.

Naidex National, from 1st – 3rd May at the Birmingham NEC is the UK’s largest homecare, disability and rehabilitation event where healthcare professionals, the trade and members of the public come together to test, touch and compare thousands of the latest products and services to aid independent living, on offer from over 300 participating exhibitors. Naidex was delighted to welcome Simon Weston OBE, the Falklands War veteran, to open the event. Participants also had the opportunity to hear Simon give an engaging speech in which he openly expressed his views on a number of matters relating to veterans’ issues. ‘Scene and Heard’, the fun communication iPad application from Therapy Box, was given the prestigious New Product of the Year Award, and P Pod from Special Othotic Services was given the Style Award by a panel of expert judges.

Future events on the i2i calendar for 2012 include the hottest launch event of the season, The Jewellery Show London in the intimate and opulent surroundings of Somerset House in London (12th – 13th June), the UK’s favourite fashion buying destination, Pure London (19th – 21st August) and the largest home and gift trade buying event of the season, Autumn Fair in Birmingham (2nd – 5th September). In addition to these major exhibitions i2i Events Group will also stage the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity (17th – 23rd June), the world’s leading celebration of creativity in communication where creative professionals come to debate, learn and be inspired, as well as the Spikes Asia Festival in Singapore (16th – 18th September) which was built on the illustrious Spikes

Asia Awards. The largest international meeting place for retail leaders, the World Retail Congress will take place at ExCel in London (19th – 21st September), bringing together some of the world’s leading retail heads and featuring speakers including Marc Bolland, CEO Marks & Spencer, Charlie Mayfield, Chairman John Lewis Partnership, Steve Sadove, Chairman & CEO Saks Inc, Paul Delaoutre, CEO & Chairman Galeries Lafayette, Natalie Berg, Global Research Director Planet Retail and Jim Fielding, President Disney Stores Worldwide, amongst others.
