HRS reveals Europe’s top 10 most popular new hotel openings in 2013

Europe’s favourite new hotels in key business hubs unveiled

HRS, the hotel solutions provider, has unveiled its top ten new hotels which are located in key business capitals across Europe.
Reviewing all business hotels that opened their doors for business in 2013 within major business capitals of Europe, HRS took into consideration both booking frequency coupled with those with the highest ratings to come up with the top ten most popular properties within their portfolio.


1. Dora Hotel ****, Istanbul
 Modern comfort meets purist style at The Dora Hotel, which is located in Istanbul’s business district just near the Bosporus. The 4-star hotel offers 119 rooms over 7 floors and is situated in the European part of the city. Thanks to its central location close to Taksim Square, public transportation is within walking distance, just a few minutes away. Likewise, the congress centre ICEC (500 metres) is in easy reach. Hotel guests can access Wi-Fi and on-site parking facilities free of charge. For the security and comfort of its guests, the hotel entrance, lobby and the corridors are under video surveillance 24/7. Breakfast is served from 5 a.m. Busy corporate travellers can take advantage of the express check-out and the hotel’s own shuttle service.

  2. art'otel *****, Amsterdam
 The hotel art’otel really lives up to its name. This 5-star design hotel is situated in the heart of Amsterdam and enjoys a convenient location opposite the central station. Designed by the Dutch artists’ collective Atelier van Lieshout, it not only features 107 stylish rooms, but also impresses guestswith its popular restaurant 5&33, and its 300 sq m gallery, which serves as an event area. The restaurant is a good option for business meetings. Ideal for business travels, the hotel offers express check-out and free Wi-Fi.

3. UNIC ****, Prague
 Located just 400 metres from the banks of the Vltava River in the historic city centre, the hotel UNIC offers guests both traditional charm and contemporary design. All 90 modern decorated rooms impress with an upscale ambience. Business travellers can make use of the secretarial service and free Wi-Fi. The latest check-out is at 3 p.m. Furthermore, the hotel provides easy access to the public transportation network with direct connections to the airport. Prague Trade Fair is located only 3 kilometres from the hotel and is easily reachable using the hotel’s shuttle bus.  

4. Caravita ***, Rome
 In the hotel Caravita, a cosy atmopshere goes hand in hand with culture and history. Offering just 8 bedrooms, this 3-star boutique hotel near the Pantheon is a hot favourite amongst the most discerning of travellers. The private and elegant flair of the hotel also features home-made specialties in the restaurant and a charming outdoor area. Business travellers can take advantage of a range of in-house services including express check-out, free Wi-Fi and limousine service. The underground station Barberini is located just 1 kilometre from the hotel.

5. Olivia Balmes ****, Barcelona
 The hotel Olivia Balmes is the first 4-star hotel in Catalonia’s capital that has received an ‘A’ in energy efficiency. Situated in the centre of Barcelona, close to the train station Passeig de Gràcia, it offers 128 bright rooms with high-quality modern and functional amenities, including Wi-Fi. Montjuik Trade Fair is situated at 5 kilometres’ distance; whilst Gran Via business district is 8 kilometres away. The roof terrace featuring an outdoor pool and a wonderful view over the lively city is the perfect place to sit back and unwind.

6. Hotel Magna Pars Suites Milano *****, Milan
 Located in Via Tortina, the fashion and design district of Milan, the Magna Pars Suites Milano places great emphasis on comfort, offering modern and elegant bedrooms. The 5-star hotel amazes guests with 28 spacious suites that come with a large work area and free Wi-Fi. The hotel also features DA NOI IN, the restaurant of famous chef Fulvio Siccardi. Next door, the hotel’s event centre which is based in a former perfume factory leaves room for individual and unique functions. Public transportation is within a short walking distance, and the trade fair is only 4 kilometres away. This stylish hotel is particularly popular as a meeting place for business travellers working in the creative industries.  

7. StarInn Hotel Wien Schönbrunn ***, Vienna
 The 3-star hotel StarInn Hotel Wien Schönbrunn is conveniently situated at the western gate of Schönbrunn Palace and provides underground parking directly beneath the hotel. By taking the underground, the city centre can be reached within just 7 minutes, and the train station Westbahnhof is only two stops away. The contemporarily designed city hotel has a business centre in the lobby, and features 238 rooms and free Wi-Fi access.

8. Winters Hotel The Wall ****, Berlin
 At the most famous border crossing of the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the Winters Hotel Company has opened a modern 4-star design hotel ‘The Wall’. In addition to 145 rooms, it features 25 apartments with fully equipped kitchenettes for long-term stays. Free Wi-Fi is also provided. Guests can park their car for a fee of around £12.50 (15 EURO) per day (£12.50) in the inner courtyard of the hotel. The underground station is conveniently located right at the front door.

9. The Flag ***, Zurich
The 3-star apartment hotel in the heart of the vibrant business district Zurich-Altstetten offers its guests 104 individually and discreetly designed rooms. Long-term stays for up to 3 months are also bookable. With pieces from contemporary artists and an appealing mixture of light and different colours, each room is appealingly designed. Furthermore, The Flag boasts an elegant lobby with a separate area for business meetings with up to 20 attendees, as well as a convenient check-in and check-out-system that is available 24/7. The train station Zurich-Altstetten and a tram stop are only a few minutes away on foot.

10. Sound Garden Hotel ***, Warsaw
The Sound Garden Hotel presents itself in modern style and enjoys convenient connections within the Polish capital. It is just 2 kilometres from Warsaw Chopin International Airport and 6 kilometres from the Warsaw Trade Fair. Brightly designed rooms with chic and functional furnishings, as well as 9 conference rooms for up to 310 guests ensure the ideal setting for successful business trips. Corporate travellers can be even more flexible and independent—thanks to a modern self-check-in and check-out system.
